About Lynne Martin, California Certified Studio Teacher

Hi, I’m Lynne Martin, though most of my students know me as “Miss Lynne.” I am a licensed K–12 teacher with extensive experience as both a private tutor and an on-set studio teacher. Over the years, I have worked closely with students in one-on-one settings as well as in small group environments, providing individualized academic instruction, study skills coaching, and educational support tailored to each student’s unique learning style and needs.

My approach goes beyond simply helping students complete assignments or prepare for exams. I focus on teaching students how to “learn smarter” by developing efficient study habits, organizational skills, and confidence in their abilities. This allows them not only to improve academically, but also to better manage the demands of busy schedules, extracurricular activities, and professional commitments. For young performers in particular, I understand the importance of balancing school responsibilities with acting careers, auditions, rehearsals, and production schedules. My goal is to help students succeed in both worlds without feeling overwhelmed.

In addition to my teaching background, I bring over 20 years of experience working with children through dance instruction and children’s theatre programs. I also founded and led after-school enrichment classes focused on valuable life skills, including etiquette, public speaking, and personal finance. These experiences have given me a well-rounded understanding of child development, communication, creativity, and confidence-building.

As a parent of two successful adult daughters—one an actress based in Los Angeles and the other a musician in Nashville—I have firsthand insight into the unique challenges and opportunities that come with pursuing careers in the entertainment industry. This perspective helps me connect with students and families in a meaningful and supportive way.

I pride myself on being professional, flexible, prepared, and production-friendly. I always strive to create a positive balance between the needs of the child, the parent, and the production team. As a dual citizen with both American and Canadian passports, I am able to work throughout the United States and internationally as needed.
